The Duck and Cover Tavern
[ Channel 6 is rain for when the weather is rough outside ]
Modest, and freshly constructed from local resources. You can particularly note the slabs of stone used for the thick walls come from the foothills of the Sword Mountains themselves. Candlelight flickers in the small cross-hatched windows, and a large wooden carving of a dragon’s head guards the door, holding chains connected to a masterfully carved sign reading ‘The Duck and Cover’.
As you make your way inside, you notice amongst the brand new oak bar and fresh stone floor are pieces of particularly old furniture - lovingly varnished, but with dents and grooves from its previous life.
The inn is unfinished in parts, but is homely enough with torches on the walls, candles on tables, and a large cream-coloured cat prowling between the table-legs. A large dark-skinned man stands at the bar now, cleaning a silver tankard. A red-headed elven man sits at a small table beside the bar, surrounded by open books.
