As the rain steadily came down that cold October night, my mind wandered. The sounds of the pub filled my head as I waited. Nervously I kept checking the old grandfather clock behind me, she was running late I told myself.Pressing my forehead to the window, I closed my eyes and just listened. The small fire battling the piano played hap haphazardly through the night. The scores of conversations mixed with tinkering of glassware. She'll be here soon I said... She'll be here soon.
